Dear Sir,

I hope you will not fail to bring the case of the Zulu boy before the Board, indeed it is a sad sad case. All agree that the boy is most unsuitably placed and the intention of making him mess waiter is very unfortunate – he is eleven years old – so bright and intelligent that the school mistress is in difficulty now to teach him with other children of the regiment.
