Sir,

I have received your letter. Miss Weale told me that a friend of hers whose name I understood to be Miss Grove had made the statement that she had left at my house the invitation from the archbishop of Canterbury to his garden party. I regret to say this has not been by any means the only untrue statement made as to what has occurred in my house, having also been able to prove so conclusively the falseness of this statement by the lady, I thought it right to inform you, as I also did Miss Weale.

Yours faithfully
Amy Sainstbury

F.W. Chesson Esq
