Dear Sir,

I have made every arrangement about the garden party next Wednesday at Mrs Hopkin’s … manor. I wish so much you would go, I think it would be a great pleasure to the king and major indeed all if you could arrange. Mrs Hopkins had asked me to invite any gentlemen they like much and I thought of you, will you accept. I am to write finally on Monday the superintendent of Great Western Railway has kindly placed a saloon at our disposal leaving Paddington at 12 noon … about 6:45 …. I ask to have the carriages from Colonial Office to convey them to and from the station, or will it be better to send them in my own. Excuse my asking so many questions but I do wish to have all arrangements perfect.

Believe me faithfully,
Amy Saintsbury
