I received yesterday a dew lines from the Duke of Newcastle in reply to mine. He says he has presented some papers on the N.Z War to parliament, but only those papers which were officially received. I apprehend, therefore, that probably no letter of my brother will be considered official unless it was transmitted through the colonial governor.
