Dear Sir

I enclose Senator Macdonald’s letter to the Revd (?) Whiting, which when you have read, kindly forward to Sir John Coles. 1 Savile Row Burlington Gardens W. at the same time asking him when read to forward to Ramsgate. I suppose the pamphlet you spoke of today is the reply Sir Macdonald speaks of in his letter as being prepared to the report of the deputation sent by the C.M.S.

I should be glad if your powerful aid in the good cause results in Sir Duncan not being driven out of Metlakatlah by the C.M.S and the Dominion Govt.

I think you can’t do better than exercise all the pressure you can at the Colonial Office as to endeavour to bring the Ottawa Government to a proper frame of mind.

Yours faithfully
H.C. Becton
