Transcript:

General Post Office
Natal March 15 80

The Postmaster General of Natal begs leave to inform Miss Chesson that the accompanying letter to her address, which is marked ‘Registered’ and stamped with the proper registration fee, was posted at the window for receipt of ordinary letters, and not presented for registration in the usual manner.

A few weeks since a number of [book?] parcels were posted with no further address than ‘Miss Constance Chesson,’ and as other irregularities have from time to time been reported regarding documents addressed incorrectly to the enclosure, the Postmaster General takes the opportunity of impressing Miss Chesson of these facts with a view to prevent a repetition of such irregularities, which may entail much trouble and inconvenience.
