Bishop’s Court, Manitoba
Canada
January 14th 1873

Dear Mr Chesson,

I beg to introduce to you my dear friend and invaluable fellow labourer the … McLean, Archdeacon of Manitoba and Warden of St John’s College. He is in England on an important mission, the raising of an endowment fund for the proposed Saskatchewan bishopric in my diocese. One of the first efforts of the new bishop will be a provision for evangelizing the aboriginal tribes in that region. This is a necessity for those tribes for the emigrants that may enter. You will find the archdeacon well up in the whole subject. You will find him perhaps useful in advocating the object of your society and you may be able to assist him by getting him introduced to those who may be able and willing to forward his effort.

I am,
Dear Mr Chesson
Very sincerely yrs
B. Rupert’s Land

F.W. Chesson, Esq
