Dear Sir,

I called this day on Mr Blyth and received a most cordial reception, he will by this week’s mail write a private letter to president Brand stating the nature of my visit here and the reception I receive from my English friends, and he promised if I do not receive an interview with Lord Derby to see Sir Robert Herbert on the subject. If you also by your own influence as well as through Captain Wills can obtain that purpose, the consul will see me again and give me a private communication to hand it personally to Sir Henry Brand. Mr Green will fully explain the matter when I shall have the honour to see you on Friday morning.

Believe me dear Sir with great respect, esteem and thanks.

Yours faithfully,
Samuel L Moroka
