Dear Mr Chesson,

I have had several enquiries today about King Tawhiao and his friends, some from my Sunday class of working men. They would much like to see them.

They will have a large gathering on Aug 2nd Saturday when there will be 500 men and women out of door, I … if they are coming they cd have come here on Thursday the 1st or next day. We would have a party of the upper classes in our garden but should like to know soon to let them know.

After that time we are uncertain tho we shall be probably here till the 10th.

Yours truly
Theodore Fry
